I have a nine year old.

I have had a nine year old for three days and I still can’t believe it. Thursday was Tyler’s birthday and he had a great one. He started the day with an orthodontic appointment that went really well. He does have to work on a loose tooth and get it out before next month, but nothing more serious than that. From there we went to pick up Daddy and go to lunch. The lunchtime surprise…lunch with Belinda! Belinda is my friend and used to be my manager when I worked at Children’s Hospital. We went to the new facility to have lunch and take a tour. What an amazing place! We met these cute friends out front.

Belinda was so happy to see us, and we were happy to see her too. It was so nice to have a couple of hours to catch up and hang out with her. Here are the boys with Miss Belinda…

We came home and Tyler got to open his presents…FINALLY!! Grandma and Grandpa sent a card with a little bit of money in it. Tyler loved that!

I think he loved this even more…

And from Mommy and Daddy…

Poppy and Kiki sent a card with a some $$ in it too. Sadly, Wade didn’t take a picture of it for me. Oy. Of course Wade and the boys set out to build both sets of Legos in one night…

This is the look that I got in response to my question…”Just whose legos are those anyway…?”

Friday was another big day…school haircuts. Tyler did not want his touched, but we convinced him that he needed his shaped up and the dead ends cut off. His doesn’t look different at all. The other two, on the other hand, decided that it was time for a change. Neither of them wanted to have their bowl cuts anymore. Here’s Benji, happy as a clam with his new ‘do…

And the reason I cried at the salon…*sob*

Boy am I glad I got those pictures at the stockade…

(I promise I’ll get back into the vacation recap soon!)

I think it’s funny that Wade has the instructions in front of him and the hair cut — oh my!
